AirportNEXT pilot launched with 24 airports across North America

ANSI is proud to announce that with the help of ACI-NA, has gathered 24 airports to take part in the AirportNEXT pilot project in 2024.

ANSI and ACI-NA had originally planned on getting 8 - 12 airports for the pilot, but with quite a strong interest has brought the pilot number up to 24 airports from both the USA and Canada.

The AirportNEXT assessment separates the airports into the following four tiers by the most recent year of total enplaned and deplaned passengers (PAX):

  • Tier 4: over 16 million PAX - 5 airports

  • Tier 3: between 4 and 16 million PAX - 5 airports

  • Tier 2: between 850,000 and 4 million PAX - 4 airports

  • Tier 1: under 850,000 PAX - 10 airports

These 24 pilot project airports now form the Steering Committee for the AirportNEXT model in it’s first year. ANSI will gather insights from them on how to improve the stakeholder survey to better extract critical results, as well as how to best understand and learn from the final dataset. Furthermore, these 24 pilot airports will form the baseline industry and tier averages for the entire future of the AirportNEXT model, as more airports are perpetually added following the pilot.
